Queensland Flood Appeal: how Angelene is helping

My beloved state of Queensland is currently devastated by flood. Three-quarters of the state is affected, including my home town of Brisbane. For international peeps, this is the size of France and Germany combined. Thousands of families have lost their homes, their businesses and all their possessions, and to date the death-toll stands at 16.

The initial rush of dontations to the flood appeal are starting to dry up (excuse the pun) so to do my part, I am going to donate 20% of all sales in January and February (my birthday month) to the flood appeal. I have also spent a day at an affected friend’s house ripping down walls and cleaning up toxic mud (what a workout – I couldn’t move for three days afterwards!). I’d like to use my craft to help other people as well.

My bow range are definitely my most popular selling items, both online and in person. Here are two recent additions to the family!

Introducing, the tiny bow bracelet and tiny bow necklace! I think they’re adorable, and thank you to the lovely bride who’s custom order resulted in these new listings.

The tiny bow bracelet features lovely 14kt goldfill chain, interspersed with lovely tiny little bows, which have been formed so that there are no additional links to mess up the flow. The tiny bow necklace is just like its big sister, although the bow is smaller and the necklace is designed to sit at your throat. Just a few wee changes, but important ones.

well, help has always been here really…

I’m talking about TeamSASsy. Sellers Assisting Sellers (SAS) is an etsy team which specialises in, well, helping etsians. How awesome is that? You might not have known they existed, or you may have heard of them, but not really known too much about what they do. Well, let’s change that shall we?

Here are my latest offerings, using my recently acquired stash of AAA quality gemstones. So shiny!

AAA trillion cut (which you don’t see often) crystal quartz pendant necklace.

Matching earrings.

Incredibly blue sapphire, also AAA quality.

AAA quality pink amethyst, which in my opinion is more lavender than pink

Huge twisted and faceted smoky quartz. These coffee brown lovelies are enormous (as far as gems go).
